The 15th Annual Gold Coast Fishing Classic that will occur on June 18 is a long-running fundraiser for Children’s Harbor, which runs housing and related programs in the city’s western edge.
At its housing complex, foster children live together, attend school as usual and receive therapy. Catching fish can help raise money for a Pembroke Pines nonprofit that assists abused and neglected children.
This event will be hosted by the Florida East Coast chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors. Participating anglers will be competing for cash prizes between $750 and $5,000. “They’re an amazing group of people who come together every year to help the kids we serve,” Glasscock said regarding the tournament.
