Southwest Ranches Yorkshire Pig Finally Allowed to Stay

The Yorkshire pig, Strawberri, almost got kicked out of town for being the wrong kind of swine, won’t have to move out of town, after all. Since, Southwest Ranches is known for its many and varied farm animals, Strawberri and other domestic porkers, that are not Vietnamese potbellied pigs, are now welcome in this rural town. Last Thursday, the Town Council put an end to the swine controversy with a 5-0 vote. Kai Falk (12), the owner of Strawberri, said “I feel glad that we get to keep Strawberri and that we don’t have to be worried about moving somewhere.” She was also asked why she named the pig; Strawberri, “She loved Strawberry fruits as a piglet, but now she doesn’t like them anymore, she likes watermelon now,” said Kai.
